This inspirational exhibition showcases work from Jimmy Nelson’s most famous photographic cycles and features 65 of his distinctive large-format photographs, many of which are 3 metres wide. It will be running from 20th September 2023 to 21st January 2024 at Palazzo Reale in Milan.
Nelson has spent his life travelling the globe to photograph people from indigenous cultures at great risk of disappearing in an increasingly globalised and industrialised world. In his photographs, Nelson celebrates the cultural diversity encountered on his journeys establishing deep connections with people from communities in West Papua, Tibet, Africa, Siberia, Bhutan and many other locations. He invites viewers to see the world from a different perspective and encourages them to understand and appreciate the intrinsic beauty and humanity we all possess.
The exhibition was produced in collaboration with the Jimmy Nelson Foundation and was curated by Nicolas Ballario and Federica Crivellaro. It is accompanied by a largescale catalogue published by Skira which is a treasure trove of stunning images.
